Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enroll/schedule a class?
Healthcare providers, lay rescuers, and members of the community can enroll by viewing our Google Calendar. Simply click the Calendar icon or select a course tab to choose your class. You’ll be taken to the class description and registration form.
Alternatively, use the Courses tab at the top of the page to select a class, review details, and click “Send” to register.
For businesses, schools, or community groups needing custom scheduling, please call (859) 248-8189 to arrange an appointment.
What if my job requires a classroom course and not the online version but I want to take the online for convenience?
Our blended (online) courses are fully compliant with regulatory requirements. The online portion covers theory, videos, and interactive learning, while the required hands-on skills check-off is completed in person with an American Heart Association instructor.
The classes listed do not fit my schedule, can I call for a special personalized appointment?
Yes. Call 859-248-8189 or contact us through our Contact Us page. We’ll work to find a time that fits your schedule.
How much does it cost?
Pricing varies by course and is listed with each class. All prices are subject to change without notice.
Are they any discounts for classes?
Yes, Group discounts are negotiable for any organization. For any industry, school, and community needs – the instructor/s can come on-site. However, in that case the discount might not apply due to transportation costs when traveling out of the county.
Where is the class located?
Directions are available through Google Maps—click “Contact Us” in the navigation menu. For businesses, schools, or community groups, instructors can also provide on-site training. Out-of-county training will include a standard mileage fee.
Do you offer online courses?
Yes. The American Heart Association offers select online courses followed by an in-person skills session and test. These are intended for recertification or experienced participants ONLY. First-time students should enroll in a full classroom course. Students must be able to perform skills with minimal assistance. Those unable to pass the skills check-off will be dismissed without a refund.
I found a Key Code for the Online Course cheaper elsewhere on the net. Can I use that and then participate in skills practice and check off for completion of the course?
No. Key Codes must be obtained through our official links to AHA. After completing HeartCode BLS, (or any of the blended learning courses) you’ll receive a certificate of completion from AHA granting access to a skills session with a certified American Heart Association instructor. This certificate must be printed or emailed and presented at your appointment.
Do you take credit or debit cards?
Yes. We accept cash and credit cards. Credit card fees apply at checkout. Your information is used only for registration and payment processing.
Each class is subject to a cancellation policy.
How long do classes last?
Class times vary and are listed in each course description. Skills check-off sessions for online courses may vary in length.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. A sweater is recommended, as the training center may be cool.
What happens if I am late to class?
Please arrive on time. Once class begins, entry may not be permitted. Late arrivals are considered a no-show and are subject to the Cancellation/Reschedule/No-Show Policy. You may reschedule for another class.
